Not only have their kids improved their body image and nutrition habits, but these parents have even reported that their own relationship with food has improved from learning this method!

  • “When I signed up for this course I was hoping to educate myself a little more on how to help my daughter build a better understanding and relationship to nutrition. I was never given the right introduction myself as a young girl let alone understood enough about nutrition to know how to guide her and particularly myself. This course made it so simple for me to understand and break down the different componenets of a healthy meal and a healthy approach to nutrition. I kept watching the videos for support, motivation, and a clear breakdown of what to look for and how to understand the foods I was choosing for the both of us. I feel so empowered with the knowledge Jana provided that it’s completely transformed my confidence in choosing the right ingredients for my family. She gave me so many ideas and solved problems to such common challenges. I feel incredibly fortunate to have attended her course. It was truly worth every penny to have her speak such truths, her words were absolute gold!”

  • “A large jump in the scale for my daughter got me worried that this trajectory would continue, and I sought help from Jana to give me the tools to help my daughter without her really knowing it. She was only 9 at the time and I needed the language and words to say to her without it leaving a scar on her or messing with her self-esteem. A few sessions with Jana (and still going) and I had new snack/meal ideas, a better vocabulary to use around her, and I feel overall better that what she is going through is normal. We have been able to plateau her weight and even get her to make healthier choices. It’s not all fun but it’s necessary to make sure healthy habits continue through adolescence and adulthood.”

  • “Jana is extremely knowledgable and professional. Her demeanor, attentiveness, and keen sense of what her clients need is truly apparent. She has been so helpful to me as well as to my preteen daughter. Her ability to engage with my daughter in such an understanding manner which is helping to promote a life-long healthy relationship with food, is very impressive. We are so grateful to be working with her and highly recommend her.”

  • “Jana’s knowledge and expertise have been invaluable to both me and my family. In particular, Jana has helped my teenage son learn how to eat healthily by teaching him about different food groups, what his body needs for energy, and providing lots of options. This is a challenge since he does not like a lot of foods and food groups. Jana’s easy-going manner, encouraging way, and positive, reinforcing attitude has brought success to my son. He feels safe and encouraged when talking with Jana. She is also so creative and always comes up with great ideas no matter what! I highly recommend Jana for both kids and adults.”

  • “Jana has been outstanding in helping me with my son. She is knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful. Although she has never met my son, she worked through me and gave very practical tips and advice. My son lost 15 lbs over a year. Not only did he lose weight, but he also gained confidence and control over his body. It had so many positive effects on his life. Jana always listens and gives good and sincere advice. Jana’s advice helped my son to have a healthy relationship with foods. My son never felt restricted. He learned to make healthier choices and listen to his body. I am so grateful to Jana.”

  • “Our family started working with Jana because like many of us, our son gained some weight during the pandemic, and it was affecting his confidence. We wanted to find a way to help him without making him feel even more self-conscious. Jana came highly recommended by our son’s pediatrician, and we could immediately see why. Jana never talks about losing weight but instead focuses on making healthy choices. She educated us on effectively reading nutrition labels and provided us with an extensive shopping list of nutritious foods and snacks (she even has a list exclusively for Trader Joe’s!). She taught our son how to listen to his body to know when he was full and gave lots of tips on how not to get too hungry in the first place. Her tone and feedback are always patient and understanding. Jana’s goal for our son was to just keep his weight the same as he grew. However, by implementing the changes she suggested, he painlessly lost weight. That was two and a half years ago. He has grown 5 inches and is still not back to his weight at his first appointment. Because he’s an athlete, our sessions now focus on bulking up. Thanks to Jana, we’ve watched our son develop a healthier relationship with food and his body that we think will serve him well for his whole life. We’re so grateful to Jana for her guidance!”

Meet Your Dietitian: Jana Greene Hand, MS, RDN

As the child of two obese parents, I was raised in a diet culture that created confusion around weight and food. While my parents were well-intended and brilliant, they had no guidance on the “right way” to create a positive relationship with food.

Now, as a mom of two girls, I’m no stranger to worrying about doing the right thing. I worry about their sleep, their homework, their friendships, and of course, their nutrition. I’m highly motivated to not only educate my daughters on good nutrition, but to foster a relaxed food environment where they feel free to indulge without restriction while still being mindful to take care of their precious and unique bodies.

One of the things that has inspired me throughout my journey as a mom and dietitian is how driven parents are about wanting to do the right thing. I know how overwhelming it can be to feel hopeless, stuck, or worried about your child’s health and well-being.

While I enjoy working with kids to teach them about their own body’s needs and how to self-advocate, my real joy comes from working alongside parents to empower them to make the necessary (& simple) changes to create a stress-free food environment where kiddos can achieve their healthiest body weight and maximum confidence without food restriction.

This is why I created this easy to implement, 6 module, online program to help you create better food habits and nutrition strategy in your home.
